New Blog Name

Batten down the hatches. Hold on to your hats. My blog will be changing it's lack-luster name in the near future. The URL will remain the same to secure the few followers that I have. I'm all about keeping things simple. But honestly....John Waire Photography is just NOT cutting the mustard! Didn't someone once say...it's all in a name?

This is my attempt to bring a little more exposure to my blog. A feeble attempt...but an attempt nonetheless. I've been racking my brain trying to come up with something catchy. Something that will make people smile. Something people will remember. Who knows...something people may even like and decide to revisit.

In an email conversation with my brother-in-law, it happened. A defining moment. A light bulb turned on. In these crazy times, I uttered a phrase that lives near and dear to my heart. Especially lately.

A drum roll please....

Stay tuned in and please pass along the word to all of your friends, family and unborn children.

A new chapter will begin for.....

Daily Dose O'Mady

I had a wedding today and followed that up at my brother-in-law's place for a small get together. Realizing I needed a few photos of Mady...I sneaked a few in....before the Guinness and Black Bushmills shots started flowing....

I realize I'm in the refection but I sorta like that :) The beer was on the deck outside and Mady wanted Dadda...

Sara is in the pink in the background.

This kid is too cool!!!!

Growth

Sara and I met up yesterday for Mady's 9 month pediatrician appointment. She is doing so well. It's unbelievable. For the specifics, check out Sara's blog at http://sbwaire.blogspot.com/ -- she's a proud Mom....so hard to tell :) Mady and I are both lucky to have her.

It's really amazing to see this kid grow. It's even more amazing to think that I played a role in it. Every day, we're filled with smiles as we watch her discover and navigate the world around her. It's surreal to be a parent. I've become Dad...which is still hard to believe it. Most days I don't feel like it...after all, that's my father's role, right? I'm not him. Or am I? Cue the music...

Mady's growth reminds me that I'm growing as well....older! It's funny how life makes you think about death. Well, it does for me anyway. I've already provided Sara with a brief overview for my Irish Wake -- a celebration of my life. Guinness of course. Shots of Black Bushmills (similar to the scene in PS I Love You...with Jameson). Oh..and a little Flogging Molly playing in the background. Enough of the morbid schtuff for now :)

I have often struggled thru-out my life to find what makes me tick. What ulitmately defines me? What is my role? Like most people, I've always associated that with a career. Who wouldn't? It's where we spend a majority of our waking hours.

After Mady's birth, the truth revealed itself. My simple, yet powerful role, is to provide.
