calling all website designers...

…hey you! yeh…you with the creative knack for producing nifty (yeh I said it)…..nifty….blow-your-socks-off…website designs. have I got a job for you.

i’m in the market for a new website. why? it’s such a long, ugly story that I’d hate to bore you to tears. bottom line…the current customer service I’m getting sucks beyond belief. i have no hair – not because i shave it…but rather because i’ve plucked every last hair from my dome in utter frustration. note to self…any vendor that doesn't actually provide a contact phone number is trouble. T R O U B L E.

my current domain: johnwaire.com

my current host: blu domain

my current design: template from blu domain

please check it out here. I know…it needs updated content. sara has been reminding me daily :) it's on the list.

the template has really served me well. i still like it, but i’ve been told by blu that it’s not compatible with my new host network solutions….which rocks by the way. i still haven’t been given clarification as to why. hence…MORE frustration.

what do I need? your rocking creativity and design skills to produce….

the end product of all end products: a site that people talk about that’s clean & different

there are 2 key elements:

  • must be photo-centric
  • (probably the deal breaker)…has to be easy for joe-blow photog (ME) to update

what’s in it for you? fortune and fame of course. naturally you’ll be paid…plus I’m all about plugging people/services that go above and beyond

leave a comment, send me an email (info@johnwairephoto.com) or call me directly (410.830.9508) if you’re interested or have any recommendations. please feel free to share this with anyone that you think is up for the challenge.

thanks so much!

Cans for Comments

Tis the season. I won't take credit for coming up with the idea, but when I heard about it I wish that I had. For every comment that I receive on my blog (between now and 15Dec08), I will donate 1 can of food to a local shelter in Baltimore.

So browse around. Check out my world. Leave a comment on any post that you'd like and I'll be tallying up the totals and sharing them with you on 16Dec08. Please note, this includes my Drive-bys blog as well.

Spread the word & share the cheer.

Thanks so much for helping out! From my family to yours....have a great holiday season!

Cheers,

John

Radio Silence

Turkey Day is around the corner. I won't be posting anything for a few days. I'll be officially off- line, enjoying some long over-due time with the family. I can't wait.

I want to thank everyone that I've had the pleasure to meet and work with over the course of this year. Without you...John Waire Photography would not exist. I truly appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon.

Happy Thanksgiving! Be safe. Have fun. Relax. These are crazy times...but the comfort & support of family & friends makes anything possible.

Cheers!

Logo Design

Please chime in. I'm looking for feedback on what could be the new logo for my photo business. I'm providing multiple colors just to play around...but looking for comments specifically on the look (font/design). Note...I'm trying to keep things simple. Thanks so much!

On the Horizon for 2009

Next year's calendar is beginning to fill up with weddings, engagement shoots, bat mitzvahs....you name it. I couldn't be more excited to see the interest in my photography services. So so cool! I've had the opportunity to meet a lot of awesome people and document a number of significant events. I feel extremely lucky to be doing this. Maybe...just maybe...the dream of taking this full time will come to fruition.

Thanks to everyone that has supported me and opened their lives to me (and my camera). A special thanks to Sara, for pushing me to pull the trigger and buy that 1st camera :)

Recently booked....

Bethany & Chris have a great website....detailing their wedding as the plans unfold. I'm really excited to be a part of their day at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. I'll be joining some pretty spectacular vendors for this shin-dig, including Charm City Cakes and Mydeejay. This event is bound to set the bar high. Can't wait.

2009 is going to rock!

New Blog Name

Batten down the hatches. Hold on to your hats. My blog will be changing it's lack-luster name in the near future. The URL will remain the same to secure the few followers that I have. I'm all about keeping things simple. But honestly....John Waire Photography is just NOT cutting the mustard! Didn't someone once say...it's all in a name?

This is my attempt to bring a little more exposure to my blog. A feeble attempt...but an attempt nonetheless. I've been racking my brain trying to come up with something catchy. Something that will make people smile. Something people will remember. Who knows...something people may even like and decide to revisit.

In an email conversation with my brother-in-law, it happened. A defining moment. A light bulb turned on. In these crazy times, I uttered a phrase that lives near and dear to my heart. Especially lately.

A drum roll please....

Stay tuned in and please pass along the word to all of your friends, family and unborn children.

A new chapter will begin for.....
