also...why prescription antibiotics? is there excess inventory? hell...i'd much rather have some free groceries :)

This is what we in retail call a lost leader. It brings them in and most will buy other things. Also builds customer loyalty, they will always remember this chain helped them with the free meds regardless to price.

The antibiotics on the list are very cheap. This way, they can do something good and not spend a lot doing it.
